Yes, Valerious' Legion is larger, but it's also disorganized and lacking in discipline. I can't answer stuff regarding Archimedes, but the Legion thing is a bit of a misnomer. Other question : Why are every stakes considerably heigtened ? Like Valerius' legion is bigger than Lanius', Archimedes II is bigger than I, etc, ? They then reproduced a lot of the armors for mass use. They picked it from Ostia, which was a museum of medieval arms and armor before the war. Is there any backstory/lore consideration for the portland legion to have freshly made armor(such as valerius' Russel crowe armor) and melee weapons? The legion in new vegas was a roman cosplay, most of the equipment the legion used was from salvaged armor or sport apparel. Had Valerious been a reformer from the start, I would've ditched the Ostia stuff and had them be way more techy. The whole "Legion using medevil arms and armor" thing is admittedly rather contrived and ridiculous, but it was also set in stone before I started writing for the Northern Legion, and then decided to make Valerious a reformer. Could’ve wished things had gone better with this mod in general :/ The Ostia museum was good for lore and continuity, but there was so much tech inside the Frontier! Couldn’t the scribes be more into science weapons or use more advanced power armor? Anyways, loved the Legion in this mod nonetheless you did awesome. My question is why continue with the whole medieval theme? I understand it’s awesome seeing the Legion using much more melee weapons and cool Roman-style armor, but this legate was much more lenient with his policies. Scrapz and his storyline with the Underland(I think that’s what it’s called) was my favorite and He and Donovon are my top picks.
I thought the legion was pretty cool from a gameplay and storyline perspective. Ive done the Legion storyline for my first Frontier run and then ONLY legion after some insight of the other factions. Although the Northern Legion is bigger than Caesar's Legion, it is incredibly disorganized and lacks discipline.The Legion Main Quest was written entirely by NazoTheDark, with assistance from Odinsword for Crusader portions, and scripting reworks done by tgspy and ZuTheSkunk.However, the changes in culture and tactics are bringing the attention of Mojave frumentarii sent by Caesar who fear Velarius may have changed too much of their ways and thus became a threat to the Legion itself. By conquering local tribes, letting natives scavs join in, having more "liberal" views towards mass education and utilizing the pre-war technology found in the Frontier, the Northern branch has become quite a sucessful force in the region.
